This course is intended for dance practitioners from a range of dance disciplines who wish to deepen and extend their own practice within a supportive critical environment.
Lower 2nd Class Honours degree in dance, performing arts or a related field; where applicants are not progressing directly from a 1st degree, professional experience and expertise may be taken into account; applicants are expected to attend a workshop and/or interview.
Core modules: The dance practitioner; creative platforms; frameworks and practice; research methods; major practical project or research dissertation (MA students).
All modules are assessed through coursework activities, and in support of practical work a reflective component in the form of a reflective journal, supporting documentation or an oral examination takes place; throughout the programme formative assessment in the form of work in progress presentations and draft written work, is encouraged to ensure students are supported through their learning experience.
