Communications and Public Relations
This course offers a combined professional study route focusing on areas of marketing and public relations; there is opportunities throughout the programme for students to network with industry professionals and to gain work experience through a shadowing and work placement scheme, students may also have the chance to undertake an international study exchange; students complete a campaign planning module which involves students working with a live client organisation and producing a marketing/public relations proposal for them, allowing students to demonstrate the knowledge and skills gained during the programme.
Lower 2nd Class Honours degree in any discipline, or equivalent; applicants who do not possess the normal academic qualifications may be considered where there is evidence of aptitude and ability and where there is also evidence of at least two years of professional level experience.
Core modules: Self review and negotiation of learning; communication and public relations management; designing practitioner research; digital and social media; triple negotiated experiential learning (project modules) module.
The taught programme modules are all assessed by coursework assignments and the master's degree is assessed by submission of a dissertation.
