University of Chester
This programme is open to students from all disciplinary backgrounds. The programme combines short intensive blocks of study designed to orientate students to the business world and equip them with business and management skills, with 2 extended paid work placements (20 weeks each) during which students will gain work experience and also complete a defined business project for the host companies. Basing the programme around the work setting will help ensure that participating students can maximise the opportunities to showcase their talents and thus enhance their employment opportunities.
Minimum 2.1 Honours degree, not necessarily in a business-related subject, but must demonstrate very sound business acumen, which will be judged by the application, CV (essential) and interview.
Modules include: Self-review and negotiation of learning; skills and approaches for work based learning; the organisational environment; designing practitioner research; triple negotiated experiential learning (the placement projects) modules.
Assessment methods include: Coursework, the major components of which will be submission of 2 consultancy project reports, based upon the 2 extended work placements.
