Designed specifically to enable leaders and managers to make lasting contributions to organisational development and transformation; the learning methods used enable the application of business and management principles and theories directly into leadership practice and organisational policy making.

Entry requirements

Appropriate 1st degree with minimum of lower 2nd Class Honours, and minimum of 2 years work experience in a business-related position, normally at supervisory level; for those with limited work experience, it is possible to enter the full-time programme after completing an intensive 3-week bridging programme in Chester and then joining a dedicated cohort.

Stage 1 (core modules):leadership learning and continuing professional development; marketing across boundaries; finance for managers; Stage 2: leading and managing people (core); strategic management (core); employment dynamics (optional); international business strategy (optional); international marketing management (optional); strategic issues for e-business (optional); creative thinking and problem solving for managers (optional); managing and exploiting intellectual capital and knowledge (optional); management in the service economy (optional); virtual and e-organisation strategies (optional); Stage 3: preparing for research; management project (core module for MBA students).

Assessment methods

Assessment for each taught module is normally by submission of 1 or 2 pieces of work and/or a piece of in-class work.
