Educational Leadership

This course is for professionals in schools and the children's workforce; students study leadership skills in schools or educational settings; the course is suitable for students with or without a leadership role.

Entry requirements

Applicants must have a degree and be working as part of the children's workforce; if they have QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) they are granted automatic entry to the course; other graduates need to attend an interview with the MA in Education (Leadership and Management) programme leader; in some cases, non graduates may be considered based on professional experience and an interview.

Course modules

Modules include: Leading in Faith schools; leadership theory into practice; policy, power and politics in educational leadership; creativity, innovation and leadership; the psychology of leadership; leading change in schools; leading governance in schools.

Assessment methods

Assessment methods include portfolios, professional logs, presentations, essays, reports and lesson plans.
