Modern and Contemporary Fiction

The programme explores a rich variety of 20th- and 21st-century fiction. It is taught by an experienced research team with strengths in modern and contemporary fiction.

Entry requirements

A lower 2nd Class Honours degree (or equivalent qualification) in a relevant area. A personal statement, written application and written work are also required.

Course modules

Modules include: Shorter fiction; novel histories: past, present, future; popular fictions; special author topic; research methods; dissertation.

Assessment methods

Each module is assessed by coursework, which may include essays, dissertations, research portfolios, and seminar papers. There are no formal examinations.
