Exercise and Nutrition Science (Dublin)
The science of exercise and nutrition is a rapidly expanding field; students develop a critical knowledge and understanding of fundamental and contemporary issues in relation to physical activity and health and nutrition in health and disease, as well as applying these principles to sporting populations.
Minimum of lower 2nd Class Honours in a related subject area, or equivalent professional qualifications; consideration is also given to applicants with relevant work experience, background knowledge and skills.
Core modules: Exercise and health; physiology and physical performance; biochemistry of metabolism; nutrition in health and disease; science of weight control; performance enhancement; sports nutrition; research methods and data analysis; MSc students must undertake a personal research project.
Assessment is achieved through coursework; there are no formal examinations. MSc students are required to complete a personal research project in order to complete the programme.
