Clinical Supervision (Low Intensity)

Students will be provided with: Training in the core skills required to deliver clinical case management; and skills development supervision, to psychological wellbeing practitioners in line with improving access to psychological therapy (IAPT) national recommendations; constructive accurate feedback your supervision skills; supervision of clinical case management and skills development supervision; students will demonstrate core knowledge and competences required to psychological wellbeing practitioners within an IAPT setting.

Entry requirements

A postgraduate qualification in cognitive behavioural thereapy (CBT) or British Psychological Society (BPS) accredited Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner (PWP) programme (or British Association Behavioural Cognitive Psychologies (BABCP) PWP registration); BABCP accreditation (or 2 year PWP experience); a low intensity supervision caseload within an IAPT service (or equivalent); enhanced clearance from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).

Course modules

The programme includes: A 7-day skills training module for low and high intensity supervision (Note: can also be studied as stand alone module); an examination of clinical supervision models and the professional context of supervision; a supervision of clinical supervision portfolio module; you will be trained through the use of lectures, experiential skills training, workshops, and group supervision of clinical supervision

Assessment methods

Assessment is through an essay; a live supervision skills assessment; a reflective commentary; a supervision portfolio.
