Professional Nursing with Overseas Nursing Programme (ONP)

This programme is designed for professional nurse clinicians, policy makers and managers; it aims to equip them with the skills, knowledge and approaches to develop and deliver effective nursing practice and management within an international and national context; the proposed course has the potential for international students to complete the Overseas Nursing Programme as an option module; this is a unique opportunity which enables students to apply for Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) registration as part of a full-time academic programme.

Entry requirements

A 1st degree (2nd Class Honours or above) or equivalent qualification; in certain circumstances, candidates without a 1st degree but with exceptional, high level professional responsibility, experience and motivation are admitted directly to Master's level study on the provision of evidence demonstrating their capability to study at this level; applicants should provide evidence of recent study or writing at an appropriate level; applicants are required to attend an interview; IELTS level 6.5 or 7 in all bands if students wish to undertake the Overseas Nursing Programme.
