This course is for nurses qualified overseas; within this course, there is an opportunity for students to complete the Overseas Nurses Programme, enabling students to register with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC), thereby improving global employability.
All prospective students must: be registered as nurses overseas; have at least 1 year's post-qualifying experience; have academic qualifications to degree level (120 credits at levels 4, 5 and 6 equivalent); have achieved International English Language Testing System (IELTS) with a score of 6.5; in addition those students wishing to undertake the Overseas Nurses Programme must: meet the NMC standards for registration, a decision letter from the NMC is required.
Modules include: Clinical context of nursing (core); leadership in nursing (core); research (core); health promotion (optional); overseas nurses programme (optional); infection prevention and control (optional); leadership development and change (optional); clinical examination skills (optional); global health improvement (optional); organisation and management of palliative care (optional); dissertation (core).
Assessment methods include: Assignments; seminar presentations; individual case studies; coursework; objective structured clinical examinations; and portfolios.
