Practice Education

This is a 2 module programme, which enables students to fulfil the role of practice educator: supporting, assessing and training student social workers in practice.

Entry requirements

Honours degree in a related area. Some applicants may not meet these standard academic requirements, may still be desirable course members with other appropriate and equivalent skills and knowledge. In such cases the applicant may apply for accreditation of prior learning (APL) or accreditation of prior experiential learning (APEL).

Course modules

The postgraduate certificate comprises 2 modules: practice education 1 and practice education 2; these address Stage 1 and Stage 2 respectively of the new professional standards for practice educators. There are options in developing resilience; mentoring; a teaching skills module core issues in learning and teaching in higher education.
