Secondary Education (Dance)
The Dance route is designed to build on prior experience to equip all students with the specific subject knowledge and skills that will enable them to become effective teachers of Dance across Key Stage 3 and 4 and Post 16. The course includes subject study, professional studies and school placements. This programme will also allow students to be able to access the performance programme in the showroom and join the community of dance students who are also studying.
Honours degree with a classification of 2.1 or above. All candidates must have achieved at least a �C� in GCSE English and mathematics and having an A level or equivalent qualification in dance is an advantage. Some experience of observation or participation in school and the ability to reflect on this are highly desirable. Successful candidates are those who are able to demonstrate a genuine interest in dance through personal performance and dance experience and through working with young people in a creative setting. If you meet the entry requirements, you will be invited for an interview at the Chichester Campus, Bishop Otter. All successful applicants will have to obtain clearance from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) and complete a satisfactory medical declaration before commencement of the course.
