This course is designed to meet the needs of business students seeking to gain the skills and knowledge they need to analyse business problems and decisions as part of their career development. Lectures explain the main ideas, concepts and problems in management, while seminars are an opportunity for deeper debate about the issues.
1st or 2nd Class Honours degree. Students with other qualifications may be admitted to the course via non-standard entry procedures.
PgCert: Leadership and organisational behaviour; strategic thinking and effecting change; finance for the professional manager. For continuation to PgDip a further 3 modules are also required: People and product; contemporary issues in business; global operations management.
Assessment is based on: Case study; reflective reports; academic essay; e-portfolio; production and presentation of reports; poster and oral presentation; written report; online assessment.
