University of Cumbria
The programme will provide students with the practical, technical, theoretical and applied knowledge suited to flexible skills development needed within the dynamic and fast changing media economy. The programme is aimed at arts graduates and mid-career professionals who are seeking to further their practice and has a clear trans-media focus, supported with a wealth of academic and technical expertise from 5 key creative fields: Film, graphic design, illustration, photography and digital art and games design. This interdisciplinary ethos is a defining feature of the programme, allowing students to develop creative projects laterally across course areas. Alternatively, creatives wishing to specialise chiefly in one area have the option of working towards a named award (e.g. MA Creative Media: Film). Postgraduate students have full access to the audio visual technical team and industry standard facilities at the Brampton Road campus, including; fully equipped Macintosh and PC computer labs carrying design and multi-media software and hardware, digital video production and editing suites, motion capture technology and a television studio with a full lighting rig and multi-camera set-up.
