Medical Imaging (Magnetic Resonance)

The overall learning outcome of the programme is that successful students will be able to demonstrate mastery in judgement and problem solving skills necessary to produce the highest quality diagnostic medical images using a variety of magnetic resonance technology systems.

Entry requirements

1st or 2nd class Honours degree. Students with other qualifications may be admitted to the course via APL procedures. They will need to have at least 12 months equivalent full time post registration clinical experience and will need to demonstrate that you will be able to work in a MR department for a minimum of 2.5 days per week. You will also need to provide one reference in support of your application. Students need a mentor who will be trained by the University e.g. a radiographer who is senior to the student. Alternatively, other professionals e.g. physicists or radiologists can be considered for this role.

Modules may include: Magnetic resonance practice 1; magnetic resonance practice 2; magnetic resonance practice 3; advanced clinical practice in magnetic resonance; managing a magnetic resonance facility; independent study; independent study (40 credits); research module; dissertation; magnetic resonance clinical practice unit.
