Management and Leadership in Health and Social Care
This course is a Master�s level programme for individuals working within health and social care settings who are managing, leading, supervising (or aspiring to do so) at a strategic level within their organisation. The course provides students with opportunities to critically review, consolidate and extend an advanced body of knowledge, and apply a range of management and leadership theories and skills.
1st or 2nd class Honours degree. Students with other qualifications may be admitted to the course via APL procedures. It is envisaged that students accessing this programme will be managers or team leaders within health and social care, and will therefore come to the programme with experience and expertise in their field. It is hoped this experience will contribute to the process of learning and enhance the learning experience.
Modules include: Management: managing within a strategic and organisational context; management of finance, resources and business planning in health and social care settings; management: managing information for organisational effectiveness. Leadership; negotiated learning; coaching and mentoring; placement shadowing experience; research methods; dissertation.
