Our practice development framework comprises a variety of modules and courseswhich are suitable for health and social care workers from all fields of practice. You can select from a large range of modules to build a customised programme of study that suits your own personal and professional development needs. You can study at a pace to suit you, from single modules to full programmes of study, all designed to meet the demands of contemporary practice. You can also name your customised programme, reflecting your chosen topic and ensuring it is relevant to your current and future practice.
1st or 2nd Class Honours degree. For applicants who do not meet this requirement non-standard entry criteria will apply. Applications will be reviewed on an individual basis and potential students will be offered advice by an academic tutor on the suitability of the award and their module choice within the award, dependent on factors such as currency of prior learning, and their personal and professional development needs. Students should be able to show potential benefit from studying for the award and offer a rationale for their module choice.
Core modules: Research methods; dissertation; evidence based practice; leadership. Optional modules must be relevant to the student�s area of practice and target award, and agreed in the student�s negotiated learning plan. Areas of practice include: Developing paramedic practice; acute and critical care; allied health enterprise development; diabetes management; enhancing paramedic practice; long term conditions; midwifery; occupational health; occupational health management; palliative care; respiratory care; sport and exercise rehabilitation.
Assessment methods may include: Case study; reflective Account; academic essay; evidence based analysis; portfolio; patchwork text; production and presentation of a teaching aid; presentation; OSCE; viva; patient / client management plan; practice based vignette; written report; online assessment; work based assessment; research proposal; dissertation; written examination.
