Exercise and Health

Building on the legacy from the 2012 Olympics and Paralympics, this programme bridges the gap between exercise and health, preparing you for work or further study in this exciting field. Core elements of this programme are modules on tackling obesity and mental health issues, which were both identified as key health issues by the Department of Health, and also locally by the Cumbria Joint Health and Wellbeing Strategy. It shall equip students with the tools and insights required to provide professional solutions to ill-health, maintaining healthy outcomes and preventing disease. Students will learn to understand the complex background to health risks, how to develop interventions, and how to critically analyse policy and practice.
