Physiotherapy

The programme gives you the knowledge and skills you need to practise as a physiotherapist and prepares you for registration with the Health Professions Council. The course is underpinned by research, with a strong focus on evidence-based practice and interprofessional working. As a graduate you will use your existing academic skills to study patient management in the core areas of physiotherapy practice, cardiorespiratory, musculoskeletal and neurology. A blended-learning approach develops your problem-solving and clinical-reasoning skills to a high level and encourages critique of current practice. The course includes 5 practice placements which cover the recommended 1,000 hours of supervised clinical practice. Placements will be arranged in a variety of health and social care settings across north west England, southern Scotland and the Isle of Man.
