Business and Payroll Management

The programme is for individuals looking to further their career, who already hold a Chartered Institute of Payroll Professionals (CIPP) qualification or degree, or have relevant payroll experience. Students will gain the skills to operate at a strategic business level within their organisation.

Entry requirements

Applicants should have completed: the CIPP Diploma in Payroll Management or the CIPP Diploma in Local Government Pensions Management; the CIPP Foundation Degree in Payroll Management or the CIPP Foundation Degree in Pensions Administration and Management; the BA (Hons) in Applied Business and Management or Advanced Diploma in applied payroll management or hold an equivalent qualification attained at level 6, for example a BA in another subject. Students may not hold any of the above qualifications but have knowledge and experience in a strategic role.

Course modules

Modules include: appreciating skills for career development and leadership; strategic management of remuneration; leading a dynamic organisation and its workforce; developing a strategic approach to reward management; strategic business finance for non-accountancy professionals; research methodologies; managing international or global remuneration practise; independent study.

Assessment methods

Students will be assessed through coursework, which focuses on how students apply their knowledge to their place of work.
