Advanced Practice

This course is aimed at professionals working within healthcare practice or service improvement. Study covers specific areas of clinical practice and leadership.

Entry requirements

Honours degree or equivalent qualification, such as a professional healthcare qualification plus appropriate post registration experience; for some pathways candidates should arrange practice experience. If your first language is not English you will need to prove you are proficient in English by having IELTS 7.

Course modules

Modules include: clinical decision making; introduction to masters level study; non medical prescribing; research methodology (application to advanced practice); vulnerability and mental health; work based learning (negotiated module); liberating talents; management of change; principles of service improvement in the workplace; work based project; independent scholarship.

Assessment methods

Assessment methods include: written coursework, Viva/OSCE, work based assessments, portfolio development, written and computerised exams and poster presentations (individual and group).
