Advanced Practice

This course aims to provide an educational framework that responds to contemporary and future issues for advanced health care practice. Students will develop critical thought, analysis and appraisal skills to enable innovative use of an evidence-based practice for advanced level decision-making/problem-solving.

Entry requirements

Honours degree or equivalent qualification, such as a professional healthcare qualification plus appropriate post registration experience; for some pathways candidates should arrange practice experience. Applicants whose 1st language is not English will need to prove they are proficient in English by having IELTS 7.

Course modules

Modules may include: clinical decision-making; introduction to masters level study; management of change; non-medical prescribing; principles of service improvement in the workplace; research methodology (application to advanced practice); therapeutics and prescribing practice; vulnerability and mental health; work-based learning negotiated module; work-based project; consolidation of advanced practice module; independent scholarship.
