Specialist Community Public Health Nursing

Students study clinical practice and development, and will develop their leadership skills throughout the course. Applicants also gain an in depth knowledge of professional roles and functions and be encouraged to bring about integrated and high quality health and social care.

Entry requirements

2.1 Honours degree (or above); or an equivalent qualification. Entry on an appropriate part of the NMC register; applicants should be working in an area which enables achievement of the individual pathway aims and module learning outcomes.

Course modules

Public health; leadership and management in a commissioning based healthcare environment; research methodology (application to advanced practice); child and adolescent mental health; clinical supervision; ethical and legal issues; mentoring; child development; independent scholarship.

Assessment methods

Exams, observations, assignments, presentation and a practice portfolio. Assessment on placement by practice teacher.
