Occupational Therapy (pre-registration)

Students on this course develop skills in leadership, lifelong learning and a theoretical knowledge of the occupational therapy profession.

Entry requirements

2.1 Honours degree or equivalent; or relevant work experience. Applicants whose 1st language is not English should have IELTS 7.

Course modules

Module include: foundations for occupational performance; occupational impact of life changes; occupational therapy: foundations for professional practice; occupational therapy: reasoning and therapeutic practice; practice placement education 1; practice placement education 2; practice placement education 3; the developing practitioner; the occupational therapy process: integrating theory and practice; independent scholarship.

Assessment methods

Assessment methods include written assignments, reports, oral presentations, independent study, practice placement, literature reviews and personal reflections.

Sponsorship information

The course is funded through the NHS; students can also apply for a means tested bursary.
