Occupational Therapy (pre-registration)

Students on this course develop skills in leadership, lifelong learning and a theoretical knowledge of the occupational therapy profession.

Entry requirements

2.1 Honours degree or equivalent; or relevant work experience, applicants whose 1st language is not English should have IELTS 7.

Course modules

Foundations for occupational performance; the developing practitioner; occupational therapy: foundations for professional practice; occupational impact of life changes; the occupational therapy process: integrating theory and practice; practice placement education 1; practice placement education 2; practice placement education 3; independent scholarship; occupational therapy (reasoning and therapeutic practice).

Assessment methods

Written assignments, reports, oral presentations, independent study, practice placement, literature reviews and personal reflections.

Sponsorship information

The course is funded through the NHS; students can also apply for a means tested bursary.
