Art Therapy

This programme gives students the experience of clinical art therapy practice and supervision, as well as closed group work and current theory. Applicants also have the opportunity to improve their technical art skills through studio work and explore their potential for self expression and communication through image making.

Entry requirements

Honours degree in creative expressive therapies; or an Honours degree in the visual arts; or Honours degree in other related areas, such as psychology; occupational therapy; social work; nursing; and a sound current folio of artwork. 1 year's full time (or equivalent) relevant work experience which may be voluntary work. Student whose 1st language is not English should have IELTS 7.0 or equivalent.

Modules include: art therapy clinical placement 1; arts therapies theory and research in relation to practice 1; art therapy studio; art therapy clinical placement 2; arts therapies theory and research in relation to practice 2; art therapy experiential group; arts therapies independent scholarship: a body of work.
