International Protection of Human Rights and Personal Freedom

This pathway addresses some of the most pressing human rights issues evolving across global systems of law today. It investigates human rights violations, equipping students for a worthwhile and challenging career. It aims to prepare students for a stimulating career with organisations working in the human rights field, from law firms to governments and non-governmental organisation (NGOs).

Entry requirements

An Honours degree in any subject (at least 2.2). Applicants with relevant work experience, may be accepted following an interview with the programme leader; applicants whose 1st language is not English should have IELTS 7.

Course modules

Modules include: legal scholarship; the law and investigation of human rights violations; public international law; independent studies.

Assessment methods

Types of assessment include assignments, portfolio preparation, reports, presentations and online preparation of material.
