Health Psychology

This course provides students with the skills to critically evaluate theories, findings and methods relevant to the field of health psychology. During the course, students will cover areas of health psychology such as health promotion, health and wellbeing, and living with long term conditions. Students will be provided the opportunity to improve skills in reviewing literature, formulating pertinent research questions, and exploring these through application.

Entry requirements

Applicants should normally have or expect to obtain at least a 2.1 Honours degree in psychology or a closely related subject containing a significant element of psychology. Applicants whose 1st language is not English require IELTS 6.5.

Course modules

Modules include: psychology of health and wellbeing; health promotion and behaviour change; psychology of illness; living with long term conditions; advanced psychological research methods in context; professional skills in health psychology; research project in health psychology.

Assessment methods

The programme is assessed via coursework.
