Dance Movement Psychotherapy

This course is accredited by the Association for Dance Movement Psychotherapy UK, so you can be confident that you'll be learning the most up to date thinking on dance movement psychotherapy. On successful completion, you'll be eligible to register as a dance movement psychotherapist. This degree aims to build up your experience of clinical dance movement psychotherapy and encourages you to use your creative skills to promote self-expression. It will also provide you with the skills and knowledge to enable you to apply for registration as a dance movement psychotherapist.

Course modules

Modules include: clinical placement and supervision; clinical supervision and advanced practice; dance movement psychotherapy: research, theory and skills; experiential: group skills; independent scholarship. the body of work; movement observation and analysis; psyche-soma: the body-mind relationship.

Assessment methods

Generally modules are assessed through the submission of written work aimed at demonstrating that students have met the learning outcomes for that module. The clinical placements are assessed though the submission of reports completed by the Clinical Placement Supervisor.
