Community Specialist Practice
This course is for qualified nurses who want to gain a professional qualification in district nursing. If you hold either a Diploma or Advanced Diploma in nursing studies, it will enable you to top up your qualification to degree level. By completing this course you'll be able to demonstrate a critical understanding of clinical practice, care and programme management, clinical practice leadership, and clinical practice development.
Core modules: specialist professional issues in continued professional development leadership and management in a commissioning based healthcare; public health; research methodology (application to advanced practice). Students choose 1 optional module from the following: child and adolescent mental health; introduction to health promotion and health improvement; principles of long term condition management; strategic and clinical management of long term conditions; independent scholarship.
Assessment methods include assignments, examinations, presentations, portfolio development, profiles.
