Bone Densitometry Reporting
Students on this course develop an understanding of osteoporosis and the role of dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry within the management of fracture risk. Engage with an experienced and enthusiastic teaching team who are health care professionals. They have worked in a range of roles within the management of fracture risk, and inject this experience to their teaching.
Modules may include: DXA reporting for clinicians; advancing practice; assessment, prevention and management of falls (theory); principles of service improvement in the workplace; theoretical considerations in the diagnosis and management of osteoporosis; work-based negotiated.
Assessment is by a verbal examination on a selection of case studies and a short written assignment on the role of vertebral fracture assessment (VFA).
