Mobile App Development

Whether you wish to work for a successful mobile software games company or you wish to start your own mobile software business, this MSc will prepare you for a successful career. It covers Apple iOS and Android development, interface design principles, emerging computer network architectures and security. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to research exciting areas of mobile technologies, tools and techniques and to disseminate your own developments in these areas.

Entry requirements

Honours degree (2.2 or above) or equivalent qualifications/experience in a computing discipline. Students whose 1st language is not English should have IELTS 6.5 or equivalent.

Course modules

You'll study modules such as mobile software design and architecture; mobile software development; mobile and client-side user experience; emerging architectures; entrepreneurial management, independent scholarship.

Assessment methods

Assessment strategy includes a mix of formative and summative assessments from the development of research strategies to the step stage process of the research project. The overall balance of assessment within the programme is approximately 60 per cent written work, 30 per cent project work and reports and 10% per cent presentations.
