Mobile App Development

The course culminates in a development project incorporating what has been learned on the course. Focusing on the students chosen specialisation of either mobile software design, development, entrepreneurship or distribution the project gives students the opportunity to produce innovative software. Students decide which area their project will be in, and will have a supervisor to provide the academic advice needed to produce a Master's level project.

Entry requirements

Honours degree (2.2 or above) or equivalent qualifications/experience in a computing discipline. Students whose 1st language is not English should have IELTS 6.5 or equivalent.

Course modules

Modules include: mobile software design and architecture; mobile software development; mobile user experience issues; client-side development; network architecture and security; emerging architectures; independent scholarship.

Assessment methods

Assessment strategy includes a mix of formative and summative assessments from the development of research strategies to the step stage process of the research project. The overall balance of assessment within the programme is approximately 60 per cent written work, 30 per cent project work and reports and 10% per cent presentations.
