Professional Engineering

We have developed this course with the engineering council as part of the engineering gateways programme to help you to gain chartered engineer (CEng) status if you are working in the engineering profession. It offers a work based route to the academic qualification and professional development that you need to demonstrate for registration as a CEng. You will acquire professional competences and a Master's without taking time off work. Because the course is flexible, it can be adapted to almost any work situation, engineering industry, or location.

Entry requirements

Good Honours degree (2.1 or above) in an engineering discipline; or industrial experience; a minimum of 2 years' relevant industrial or engineering experience. Applicants may also be able to incorporate prior certificated learning at an equivalent level which has not already contributed towards any other award.

Core and optional modules: Research methods (application andeEvaluation); negotiated advanced technical module; negotiated module (environmental and ethical responsibility); CPD and strategic management; negotiated module (commercial and technical leadership); negotiated module (innovation in technology); negotiated module (solving engineering problems); independent scholarship.
