Environmental Health (online study)
This online learning degree will equip you with the necessary skills, knowledge and competencies to enable you to understand and evaluate the risks posed by the full range of environmental health hazards, or stressors, which impact on human health and well being. You will be able to critically evaluate a full range of sustainable interventions which are available to eliminate or mitigate the health hazards or stressors, thereby protecting human health and promoting well being.
Applicants should normally have either at least a lower 2nd Class (2.2) undergraduate degree in a pure or applied science (or combination) from a UK university or qualifications and experience considered to be equivalent. applicants will normally be required to hold GCSE grade C or equivalent in English. Applicants whose 1st language is not English require IELTS 6.0 or equivalent.
Core modules: Determinants of public health and wellbeing; environmental policy and law; health impacts (workplace and food); natural and residential environments. Also 1 of the following optional modules: Environmental health in practice; environmental noise assessment; environmental pollution and management strategies; global issues in environmental and public health; health leadership, assessment and inequalities.
