Politics & International Relations (PhD 4 Year Programme)

The University has extensive holdings in European politics and has a growing strength in transatlantic studies. It has one of the four Scottish European Documentation Centres. The department hosts 2 journals: Perspectives on European Politics and Society, and the Journal of Transatlantic Studies.

Entry requirements

Doctor of Philosophy - PhD: Honours degree at 2.1 or above, and/or a Master's degree in a relevant discipline. English language requirement: IELTS 7.0 overall, with a minimum of 7.0 in all components, if the 1st language is not English.

Assessment methods

Detailed study of a topic leading to thesis of 80-100,000 words.
