Leadership and Innovation
This course is for professionals, managers and leaders who wish to develop their leadership and innovation knowledge and skills. It sets out to critically examine the relationship between relevant theory, current service design and systems and the context for change and innovation.
Normally a 1st degree will be required. An additional requirement is for at least 2 years relevant work experience. However, given the diversity of the market there may be occasional exceptions to the above where entry to the programme may be permitted because of the experience or prior learning of the student. Participants will normally be required to be in the workplace or to have access to a practice setting from which they can contextualise their academic work. Entry will be at the discretion of the Programme Director and will be consistent with other post graduate programmes within the School. IELTS of 6.5 (or equivalent), if the 1st language is not English.
Critical thinking and evidence based practice (30 credits); inter-professional collaboration and organisational change (30 credits); coaching within a systemic context (30 credits); negotiated study (30 credit).
Summative assessment through assignments.
