This programme is for both UK based and international nurses in a range of clinical environments and geographical contexts; who want to develop excellence, plan for leadership roles and share good practice. Modules are shared with a wide multidisciplinary student body undertaking the MSc's in: midwifery; maternal and infant health; and health studies.

Entry requirements

Both UK and international postgraduate students from a range of disciplines who have completed an undergraduate degree in a relevant subject will be eligible to undertake the programme. If applicants 1st language is not English: IELTS of 6.5 overall, with no component less than 6.0 (or equivalent).

Course modules

The module portfolio comprises a choice of 2 research modules, a number of professional modules relating to leadership, quality and clinical governance, and learning, teaching and assessment in practice among others. A number of clinically relevant modules are also available depending on the chosen award. Some modules are only offered every 2nd year and students will be helped to decide the best portfolio of modules to meet individual needs.

Assessment methods

The programme is assessed using a variety of traditional and more innovative approaches. We use essays, portfolios, folders of evidence, research proposals, learning contracts, exams, OSCEs, and assessed online activities such as debates and team work.
