The programme aims to provide a thorough understanding of all aspects of human anatomy; it is targeted mainly at those from overseas, especially the Indian subcontinent, who for professional reasons are required to undertake a higher degree in anatomy prior to taking up an anatomy teaching appointment; it is also open to individuals from the UK, EU and other countries.
1st degree in a life sciences, medicine or dentistry, or related subject. Minimum equivalent to 2.1 Class Honours. IELTS of 6.5 (or equivalent), if the 1st language is not English.
Modules include: gross anatomy through whole body dissection; embryology and developmental anatomy; skills module; neuroanatomy; clinical and surgical anatomy; independent and novel research project, either practical or literature based
The course is assessed through a variety of formative and summative assessments. Coursework includes practical �spot� tests, essays, practical workbooks and seminar presentations, while examinations at the end of each semester may include multiple choice questions, extended matching questions, short answer questions, essays and practical spot tests. The research project requires production of a dissertation.
