Anatomy and Advanced Forensic Anthropology (MSc)

This course is intended to provide advanced training in subject areas which are germane to current professional requirements; along with the opportunity to gain advanced skills, the programme offers work placement internships for the best students; the course covers topics such as: human gross anatomy; developmental juvenile osteology; comparative forensic osteology; disaster victim identification (DVI) training; plus a research project.

Entry requirements

A degree at 2:1 or above (or equivalent) in osteology, physical anthropology, forensic anthropology, anatomy or a related subject. Alternatively an ability to demonstrate considerable experience in a relevant field will be required.

Course modules

Human gross anatomy; developmental juvenile osteology; comparative forensic osteology; disaster victim identification (DVI) training; research project.

Assessment methods

Assessment is through: Practical spot examinations; online assessment; traditional essay based examination.
