The course is aimed at students looking to develop upon their previous computing-based qualifications from courses such as computing, information technology, information systems, software engineering or related disciplines; this course provides the opportunity and guidance necessary for students to build upon their existing knowledge and gain the skills necessary to succeed in both commercial computing and research. You may also have the opportunity to go on work placement during this time.
A 2.2 Honours degree (or equivalent award) in computing; information technology; information systems; software engineering or related title. IELTS of 6.5 (or equivalent), if the 1st language is not English.
Modules: software development+; technology innovation management; computer vision; computer graphics; computing the user experience; big data analysis; database systems; secure internet programming; software engineering+; agile engineering; computing research frontiers; research methods; human computer interaction and usability engineering.
The taught modules are assessed by continuous assessment plus end of semester examinations in December and March/April. The project is assessed by dissertation.
