Energy Studies with Specialisation in Energy Finance
This course explores the subject in detail, covering areas such as quantitative methods for energy economists; financial and project analysis of natural resources and energy ventures.
2.1 Honours degree or above; candidates holding the equivalent may also apply; students must provide degree certificates and academic transcripts with their application; IELTS of 6.5 (or equivalent); preferred degree disciplines are law; economics; geology; petroleum; or mining engineering; finance.
Modules include: natural resources sectors: a multidisciplinary introduction; dissertation or internship; energy economics: the tools; energy economics: the issues; quantitative methods for energy economists; financial and project analysis of natural resources and energy ventures; commodity trading and strategic asset optimisation in the energy industry; legal framework for international project finance; risk analysis for energy and mining investment decision making.
Assessment is through examinations and a research paper.
