Teaching in Higher Education

This programme aims to develop your knowledge, skills and attitudes to become an innovative, enquiring and reflective university teacher, and to develop effective relationship with colleagues and students based on mutual trust and respect. The programme is designed for anyone teaching or supporting learning in higher education who may be new to the role or who want to develop their existing teaching skills further.

Entry requirements

Participants must be actively involved in teaching, assessing or supporting learning in higher education. Nurse or midwifery educators must have access to students on Programmes learning to an award recognised by the NMC.

Course modules

Modules include: Facilitating learning; investigating practice; developing inclusive curricula in higher education; digital literacy; independent study; learning and teaching online (10 credits); assessment online (10 credits); negotiated study (10 credits).

Assessment methods

A variety of assessment methods are used, including a learning plan or learning contract, essays, blogs, and other online activities.
