The programme introduces an entrepreneurial concept to individual creative practice in tutorials and seminars and provides opportunities to showcase current work and undertake placements in arts or business organisations; students develop an individual artistic or personal plan to guide their work in the future; students partake in debates and attend lectures on radical ideas and contemporary issues.
All students should have a good Honours degree or equivalent overseas qualification. All applicants who are not a British national and/or whose 1st language is not English will need to demonstrate a suitable level of English language proficiency. This is equivalent to an IELTS 6.5 overall, with a minimum of 6.0 in all 4 components, although we do accept many other types of qualifications or tests. In accordance with the UK Border Agencies Tier 4 visa guidelines, we will also waive the English language requirement for applicants who meet the defined nationality test or who have completed a degree level course in 1 of the listed countries.
The course comprises of 4 taught modules and a dissertation or creative equivalent; module topics include: Technical briefings; key playmakers and cultural leaders; financial resources; artists and contemporary practice.
Assessment is based on 8 pieces of coursework; the arts plan; and a final dissertation; or creative project; or practical work or performance with a contextualised commentary.
