Creative Writing Scriptwriting

The course explores both the theory and practice of dramatic writing, addressing contemporary critical debates, analysing written and performance texts, and experimenting with a range of techniques in original writing. Writers develop skills in constructive criticism and creative editing of each other's writing, towards the creation of a supportive writers' network. Modules will be taught by theorists and practitioners, and will be supplemented by masterclasses given by visiting specialists. The screenwriting pathway within this MA is industry-accredited by Skillset, the Sector Skills Training Council for the UK film industry.

Entry requirements

Applicants require a good Honours degree at a minimum 2.1 level or equivalent. Applicants must also submit a sample of their work (up to 30 pages of screenplay or dramatic script).
