Environmental Assessment and Management
To meet the demand for skilled personnel in environmental assessment and management, this is a vocational course designed to provide a rigorous and professional training in the broad range of skills required; it combines theory with practice through collaboration with local businesses; recent dissertation titles include: waste management in offices: a case study of the Norfolk and Norwich hospital; an evaluation of perceptions of barriers to the utilisation of crop biomass as a source of renewable energy; determining significance in environmental impact assessment: a review of impacts upon the socio-economic and water environments.
Applicants require a good 1st degree at minimum 2.1 level or equivalent in a related discipline and/or relevant work experience. All applicants who are not a British national and/or whose 1st language is not English will need to demonstrate a suitable level of English language proficiency. This is equivalent to an IELTS 6.5 overall, with a minimum of 6.0 in all 4 components, although we do accept many other types of qualifications or tests. In accordance with the UK Border Agencies Tier 4 visa guidelines, we will also waive the English language requirement for applicants who meet the defined nationality test or who have completed a degree level course in 1 of the listed countries. UEA offers a limited number of scholarships for International students of up to 50 per cent of the value of tuition fees; these awards are based on academic merit.
