University of East Anglia UEA
The degrees are based on the candidate's own original research which is carried out under the direction of one or more supervisors; computing and a number of other facilities are provided for research students; the research environment is also enhanced by regular research seminars, often with invited national or international speakers, as well as interdisciplinary workshops and conferences.
Candidates would be expected to have a 2.1 Honours degree or equivalent in a relevant field and a good Masters degree; all applicants whose 1st language is not English require IELTS 7.0 (with a minimum of 6.5 in in each component), or equivalent; where a visa for study is required, UK Borders Agency minimum English requirements must be met.
Funding is available both from the University and from a number of external schemes.
