Business (Social Science Research Methods)

The degree offers an advanced programme of research training; students take core faculty modules that include generic social science research skills, broad based training in social science research methods, and advanced training in qualitative and quantitative methods; students receive school-based research skills and subject-based training from which students acquire specialist knowledge that allows them to apply the basic principles of social science research and design their own research projects.

Entry requirements

All students must have an honours degree at minimum 2.1 or equivalent. All applicants who are not a British national and/or whose 1st language is not English will need to demonstrate a suitable level of English language proficiency. This is equivalent to an IELTS 6.5 overall, with a minimum of 6.0 in all 4components

Course modules

Modules include: introduction to social science research; methods of social enquiry; business research methods; further qualitative research; business management level M; dissertation.
