A good UK Honours degree, or equivalent in any subject; students are typically asked to attend a short pre-sessional course in mathematics and statistics. All applicants who are not a British national and/or whose 1st language is not English will need to demonstrate a suitable level of English language proficiency. This is equivalent to an IELTS 6.5 overall, with a minimum of 6.0 in all 4 components, although we do accept many other types of qualifications or tests. In accordance with the UK Border Agencies Tier 4 visa guidelines, we will also waive the English language requirement for applicants who meet the defined nationality test or who have completed a degree level course in 1 of the listed countries.
Core modules: Principles of microeconomics; principles of macroeconomics; topics in economic analysis; methods of economics research. optional modules from a list including: development economics; the european economy; mathematical economics; public sector economics; the economics of corporate finance; strategic thinking; macroeconomics, institutions and policies.
Assessment takes place throughout your period of study. The majority of modules are assessed by a combination of coursework and examination.
