International Business Economics
The course enables economics graduates to develop their knowledge and understanding of international business (transnational production, finance, etc) and graduates of business related disciplines to gain greater depth in their understanding of the broader economic context of the international economy; it develops students' skills in statistical analysis and provides the opportunity for investigation into the motivation, financial practices, and consequences of international business.
Applicants require a 2.2 Honours degree, or equivalent, in Economics or another related subject. All applicants who are not a British national and/or whose first language is not English will need to demonstrate a suitable level of English language proficiency. This is equivalent to an IELTS 6.5 overall, with a minimum of 6.0 in all 4 components, although we do accept many other types of qualifications or tests. In accordance with the UK Border Agencies Tier 4 visa guidelines, we will also waive the English language requirement for applicants who meet the defined nationality test or who have completed a degree level course in 1 of the listed countries. Economic concepts; econometric methods; dissertation; optional modules include: finance; economics of the mass media; introduction to economics of the environment; introduction to health economics.
Assessment will be carried out through combinations of coursework and exams. You will also write a dissertation on a topic of your choice, supervised individually by an academic from the School.
A variety of Scholarships may be offered to UK/EU and International students. Scholarships are normally awarded to students on the basis of academic merit and are usually for the duration of the period of study.
