Adult Literacy, Lifelong Learning and Development (International Perspectives)

The course is suitable for those working in adult education and basic literacy, particularly in international and community development programmes; this includes people working in policy, planning and evaluation roles, as well as teachers from colleges, schools and literacy programmes; the course consists of 2 taught modules and a dissertation.

Entry requirements

A 2.1 Honours degree, or equivalent required. All applicants who are not a British national and/or whose 1st language is not English will need to demonstrate a suitable level of English language proficiency. This is equivalent to an IELTS 6.5 overall, with a minimum of 6.0 in all 4 components, although we do accept many other types of qualifications or tests. In accordance with the UK Border Agencies Tier 4 visa guidelines, we will also waive the English language requirement for applicants who meet the defined nationality test or who have completed a degree level course in 1 of the listed countries.

Adult literacy, lifelong learning and development (international perspectives); research methods; education dissertation.

Assessment methods

Assessment is based on the completion of a dissertation.

Sponsorship information

Scholarships available for UK/EU students; these are normally awarded to students on the basis of academic merit and for the duration of the period of study.
