Education and Development

This course explores ways that education can contribute to the development process, both theoretically and empirically, from a number of perspectives, including human rights, social and human development, and human capital; the course enables students to understand current debates and their implications for national and international education strategies; it addresses current challenges of education and development, including linguistic and cultural diversity, the education of nomads and other migratory groups, and responses to conflict, HIV/Aids and child labour; it also examines international and national policies and practices, with the aim of providing students with the capacity to contribute to appropriate policy design for educational development.

Sponsorship information

UEA offers a limited number of scholarships to qualified international students each year; these awards are based on academic merit.
