Information, Technology and Intellectual Property Law

This course brings together 2 of the most important legal questions of the 21st century: the fate of law in the information age, and the management and exploitation of diverse forms of creativity, reputation and innovation; scholars investigate everything from IP enforcement to the rights and risks associated with Web 2.0; students can choose from a range of specialised, internationally-focused modules on IT and IP, but can also take the opportunity to study subjects in the closely related field of media law, or other subjects offered in the school on commercial and competition law.

Entry requirements

A good 1st degree at minimum 2.2 standard or equivalent, in law or in a related subject; relevant professional experience is considered; all applicants whose 1st language is not English require IELTS 6.5 (with a minimum 6.0 in all skills), or equivalent.

Course modules

Core modules include: Internet law and governance; globalisation of intellectual property law; legal skills and research; supervised dissertation.

The UEA offers a number of scholarships to qualified UK/EU and international students; these are awarded on the basis of academic merit.
